"Real Music" is NF's Tagline and he definately lives up to that title. This guy has some of the most intense music I have ever heard in my entire life. I don't think the phrase "Real Music" can really demonstrate what NF's music truly encompasses. NF's music has a real gritty, moody feel that borderlines utter hopelessness, but with just enough hopefulness to keep him encouraging as he expresses his life story with lyrics that practically anyone can relate to. Surprisingly, as a christian he has caught the attention of many loyal fans throughout the world, both christian and non christian. NF's music is just so emotionally intense that he is so hard to ignore with tracks like "Outcast" where he describes not being able to fit in, "If You Want Love" which describes the cost of maintaining relationships and even tracks like "How Could You Leave Us" which describes a mom who overdosed on drugs and the tragic pain that it still causes NF today. He even cried on "How Could You Leave Us" and I find myself trying to hold in my own tears every time I listen to that song.
Even though NF has become quite a mainstream artist, I felt that he still needed to be talked about. More people could learn from NF's honesty, especially in the christian music world where many Christians are not open enough about their personal lives in their music, which makes us fellow Christians seem like we don't struggle with any real problems. Although, NF's music can sometimes be quite heavy and depressing, there is much I have learned from the brutal honesty of someone that doesn't sugarcoat stuff. NF has challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and lay down my fears of being rejected for not being understood in my own music and I really hope that you too will take NF's example and create some music that can encourage and comfort someone in need in this dying world in need of the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
